After many years of dedicated efforts to reduce our CO₂ emissions with good results, we have decided to take it to the next level. In 2022, we therefore committed ourselves to Science Based Target. It is a voluntary initiative backed by, among others, the UN and the World Wildlife Fund, and which is based on scientific methods to ensure that global warming is kept below 1.5°C. 

Science Based Targets lead the way
With our commitment we undertake to reduce CO₂ emissions by 46.2% in our own production units and by 28% in our value chain. The targets have not yet been submitted for approval by the Science Based Targets Initiative as an approval will require extensive calculations and documentation. We have two years to complete the process but we expect to submit our targets already in a year. 

Renewable energy
Every year, we increase investment in energy from offshore wind turbines, and thus the energy consumption at all our production locations is covered by investments in 100% renewable energy. It reduces the impact on the environment and supports our agenda for a sustainable future.
