This year, ege was present at three breathtaking locations during the Salone Internazionale del Mobile. Join our Milan retrospect to (re)experience these exceptional exhibitions.
Once again, Mindcraft was curated by the design duo GamFratesi, showcasing new and original works by some of Denmark’s leading designers and craftspeople. Taking place in the unique historical setting of the cloister of San Simpliciano, GamFratesi used ege carpets as their main visual component when highlighting the capacity and potential of a field ranging from experimental, innovative and conceptual design to the technical proficiency and material knowledge from crafts. Combining the worlds of MIND and CRAFT, GamFratesi exhibited the creative works on carpet covered, rotating toothed wheels creating an intense yet dynamic atmosphere.
London based Tom Dixon exhibits the latest innovations in the MUBA museum displaying four huge installations designed as separate kitchens with their own themes based on the medieval element of earth, fire, water and air. Each with a distinct materiality, aesthetic and colourway, they each had room for 20 covers, making a complete restaurant of 80 places, where the customer rotated according to the course. The fire area featured the beautiful Smoke pattern from ege’s ‘Industrial Landscape’ by Tom Dixon in a 4 x 40 m long broadloom design.
In a 2,000 square metre exhibition space in the heart of Brera, Danish interior design company, HAY, highlighted existing pieces alongside brand-new products in a spectacular multiroom installation. A carefully chosen selection of products were organized in colour-coordinated rooms displaying ege carpets in alike shades underlining the beautiful tone-in-tone theme.
