ege is a workplace at which health and safety are always prioritised. We strive to create a better work environment by means of certification and staff training. For example, we offer staff the chance to attend courses for dyslexia, or courses in Danish, mathematics or IT during working hours and with pay.
Exercises and charity – two in one
Since 2011 ege has had exercise campaigns for our employees and their families. We raise money through the employees’ participation and donate the money to the KidsAids Foundation to support sick and underprivileged children in Denmark. While these initiatives promote team spirit, they also create happier daily lives for underprivileged and hospitalised children.
DS/OHSAS 18001 which is equivalent to The Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Services, is an international system of governance of health and safety in the workplace. The system aims to help companies control and minimise health and safety risks.
ege implemented OHSAS at our two factories in 2006 with the aim of improving the working environment at the factories. It was also decided to make the working environment an integral part of environmental work at ege. We have therefore developed policies and objectives for both health and safety at work.
The system allows us to control the working environment and potential safety risks. Risks in the work environment are identified and continuously assessed, which enables us to continuously improve our working environment.
This means that we have solved all major problems associated with the work environment and that we are constantly trying to improve.
